Go Red for Bold, Glamourous Lips

Red lips make a powerful statement.  When you wear red lips are attractive and engaging. Choose red wisely and wear it well.

Begin with smooth lips. Use a lip exfoliant. Kiss Me Exfoliating Lip Scrub by Philosophy is a great choice. Next use a lip primer to prepare your lips for longer wearing lip color. Try, Tricks of The Trade Perfection Lip Primer by Sephora.

Now it’s time to choose your lipstick. Take into consideration your skin tone. When your lip color compliments your skin tone you will look beautiful, radiant and powerful. Are you warm or cool? How do you tell?
Answer these questions:

If you found that black compliments your skin, you look better in pure white and you see pink undertones, your skin tone is cool. On the other hand, if black tends to make you look tired, ivory is a better choice when choosing white and you see yellow undertones in your wrist, you skin tone is warm.

You’ll probably try several shades of red before you find your perfect red. Red lip color ranges from bright yellow based to rich burgundy.

Here is a basic guide based on your skin tone
Skin Tone                            Reds
Fair cool                              crimson
Fair warm                            scarlet
Olive Skin                            blue red
Dark Skin                             raspberry

Use a lip liner to line and define your lips. Lip liners also help to keep your lipstick from bleeding. To apply, draw a line from the bow of the top lip edge to the outer corner of the mouth. On the bottom lip draw a line from the outer corner edge to the center from the left and repeat starting with the outer corner of the right side.
Use a lip brush for a smooth, lasting application. Apply from the outer corner and work in towards the center of the mouth. Add gloss for added glamour.
